  • Q: I was in one of your Medellin branches last week.with a friend who has an account with you. We sat down with a young girl, who helped us, and i had asked about opening an account in your bank , I am not Colombian but a US citizen, When i asked about Interest rates on "CD'S" she was lost, and did not know what a CD was, and when i asked about interest rates on deposits again she did not have an answer, At the time you were 5.85% as per your web site, but it seems like she was not interested in american business?? My question is - as a foreigner can i open an account in your bank ? can i transfer money from my US bank to it? Can I but CD'S ? I see the rate has gone up to 8.23%?? is this correct? I would be interested in 1 year CD'S . Thank you in advance. My Spanish is horrible so I would need a English speaking banker. regards Howard

    • R: Hi Howard, I was wondering if you had received the answer this question, which was 2 years ago? I was thinking about buying a CD (or CDT as they are called in this bank) as well. I think you have to go through a lot of hoops to open an account as an American, I have a friend who is willing to open one CD account for me, but put me as beneficiary.
